SUGAR is the killer

Sugar is honestly like a drug to the body.

1. When consumed it releases dopamine, which are the happy little friends in our brain! They make us feel happy
2. You want to keep eating this CRACK because of how it makes you feel! this is why all "comfort food" contains an insane amount of sugar.
3. Sugar becomes highly addictive BECAUSE our body now craves it to feel "good"
4. Did you know going through withdrawals of sugar, can have the same side effects as going through withdrawals from cocaine? I've seen it first hand. SCARY

Reasons why sugar makes you fat:

1. Excess sugar is stored in your liver as glycogen.
2. When your pal the liver has too many sugar friends in it, the excess sugar/glucose is turned into fatty acids and store in your fatty tissues.
3. A.K.A. making you chubs
4. It is a proven fact that people who have more fat around their mid section, are at higher risk for heart disease AND diabetes to name a few.

I challenge you to cut out sugar for a WEEK! but please keep fruit in your diet. You do not want to get sick! You will notice so many changes in your body :)


Sneaky sugar! some names companies put on their ingredient labels. STAY AWAY!

1. Drink 2-3 litres of water a day
2. Eat every 2.5-3 hours
3. Get off your bum and go to the gym, BE ACTIVE
4. NEVER skip breakfast
5. Sleep at least 6 hours a night MINIMUM

8. Say NO to dressings and sauces

Breakfast

NEVER skip breakfast!!! It really is the most important meal of the day! I like to have a heavier breakfast so that I am more full for the rest of the day, I find I eat lighter for the rest of my meals too! You will use the carbs as energy for the rest of your day, and burn it off! I love eating granola & fruit with almond milk! Also... kick coffee in the butt, ESPECIALLY if you drink it with milk/cream and sugar!!! Drink green tea :) It helps your metabolism, AND has more caffeine than coffee! Start your day off right!

Love for Lilee

This overwhelms me with joy, and yet a bit of sadness. The strength in this family is amazing. A 3 year old girl, named Lilee who lives in my hometown of Abbotsford BC has been given 3 months to live due to brain cancer. Her mother, Chelsey, uploaded this blog post this morning. The "no regret" cookie

EVERYBODY. YOU NEED TO STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND MAKE THESE COOKIES! these only take MAX 15 minutes, and I swear you will be in heaven!! I took an original recipe and changed it to my own, so please tell me what you think!

1 cup natural crunchy peanut butter
1/3 cup honey
Egg whites or egg replacer equivalent to 1 large egg
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (I added only a couple dashes of salt for less sodium!)
1/2 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
1/2 cup flax seeds
one handful of pumpkin seeds
one handful of sunflower seeds
one handful of chopped pecans
one handful of chopped walnuts

Now mix everything together and if you want add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips (I didn't add any)
Get a cookie sheet, line it with foil, and make cookie size lumps with the batter! Its going to be runny at first but don't worry they will turn out.
Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Take out and let cool for 10 minutes and let harden.

This makes about 12 good sized cookies

Excuses?

NO EXCUSES! Vacation? No gym? No time? I CALL BULLSHIT!

Go on a run around the place you are vacationing in! Maybe you'll find a yummy smoothie place to take 5 in!

Pinterest, Instagram, Youtube, all GREAT for "no gym" workouts! they are basically giving you personal training FOR FREE!

Do some squats while brushing your teeth. Tan in the Stand Up and do some calf raises. Do some pushups while waiting for you water to boil!

I'm in Osoyoos BC right now. I've been doing workouts from my Women's Health magazine! I also just went on a run around what I like to call, the "seawall" of Osoyoos!


Start a goal

I started out with making a goal. I decided I wanted to try out for the BC Lions Cheerleading team! I knew I had some self-bettering to do, so that was my goal. WHAT'S YOUR GOAL? It can be little, but thats where you have to start! Work towards it. When you accomplish that goal, (AND YOU WILL) make a new one, and the ball keeps rolling :)
